After the attack on Area 4, he was made the pilot of the Black Star and became Marrena's right hand man and takes charge whenever Marrena is out of commission.

He's the Mirai Yashima to Marrena's Bright Noa, similarities include:
Being a Bridge Bunny(Chris is certainly a male example) who pilots the ship.
Might become a Broken Bird.
Might perform Barrel Rolls with the Ship.
